The Namibia Savings Insurance and Investment Association (NaSIA) successfully completed the integration of short-term insurers during the first quarter of 2026, with all former Namibia Insurance Association (NIA) members having joined NaSIA. The Association’s membership has now grown to 31 members, further strengthening its position as the representative body for Namibia’s non-banking financial services sector.
The consolidation of both the long-term and short-term insurance industries under one umbrella body strengthens NaSIA’s collective voice in engagements with key stakeholders on matters affecting the industry. A unified industry platform enhances collaboration, reduces fragmentation, and enables the Association to respond more effectively to emerging regulatory, economic, and market challenges. NaSIA continues to pursue a more inclusive membership model and is reviewing its governance structures to ensure they remain effective, agile, and reflective of its expanded membership.
On 27 February 2026, the NaSIA Secretariat hosted an induction session and New Year Meet & Greet for its new members. The event formally welcomed members to the Association, provided an overview of NaSIA’s strategic priorities for the year following the first round of Technical Committee meetings, and introduced members to the Association’s governance structures, Technical Committees, and Working Groups.
Members were also introduced to NaSIA’s newly revamped website and a range of digital tools, including SharePoint, TaskFlow, and other productivity applications that support the Secretariat’s commitment to enhancing member services, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
NaSIA encourages all new members to actively participate in its Technical Committees and Working Groups, leveraging the collective expertise of the industry to advance shared priorities and strengthen Namibia’s non-banking financial services sector.
The NaSIA Secretariat looks forward to working closely with all members as it continues to promote collaboration, innovation, and inclusive financial wellness for the benefit of all Namibians.
